The Street of Brentwood Mall Owners Hope to Add 320 Apartments
The owner of Brentwood’s largest shopping center, The Streets of Brentwood, is looking to build 320 apartments on a nearly 12-acre empty plot at the center originally earmarked for retail.
Officials with Chicago-based Fairbourne Properties, which bought the center last July, hope to build the three-story units on the eastern edge of the nearly 54-acre shopping center bordered by Shady Willow Lane and Sand Creek Road. To that end, they’re seeking a general plan amendment from regional commercial to high-density residential and rezoning to establish development standards for the area, according to associate planner Debbie Hill.
